BATTLE LINES by Pastor Paul Locke for loxland.com 7/04/2017
Ability is a measure of your power to perform and as a born again Christian you are unimpeded. The battle belongs to the Lord and your ability to speak the Word of God unleashes this great power over the enemy. (1Sam 17:47) Our ability is measured by the faith we have that in God all things are possible for those who believe. Knowledge prevents defeat by the enemy so claim the ‘blood of Jesus’ and fearlessly testify that you are an Ambassador of Christ to overcome the devil. (Rev 12:11)
Theatre of War is the location where you wage war and a godly General decides the best location that will guarantee victory. (Josh 8:14) Experience is ability to draw upon past battle results that tell us not to preach to the converted but use new methods to bless them. Each church has a territorial spirit in control which defends the territory preventing access unless that Spirit is of God and has taken control. (Mtt 8:28) People in the demonised church must be met in the street.
Weaponry is important because against tanks armour piercing shells are used or otherwise Russian Molotov cocktails. David said to Goliath, ‘You come against me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty the God of the armies of Israel whom you have defied.’ (1Sam 17:45) Spiritual warfare is not conducted against flesh and blood, but against … spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Eph 6:12)
Logistics is the science of numbers of troops ready for battle, so unprepared leaders forget the six Ps that are ‘Proper, Prior, Preparation, Prevents, Pitiful, Performance.’ (Josh 7:4) The Word of the Lord came to Joshua saying, ‘Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged. Take the whole army with you and go up and attack Ai. For I have delivered into your hands the king of Ai, his people, his city and his land.’ (Josh 8:1)
Prisoners of War are released when Jesus came to set the captives free. (Lk 4:18-19) The battle has been won because the devil illegally killed Jesus, an innocent man. God’s righteous judgment against Satan allows believers to move from captivity to freedom in Jesus Christ. (Rom 3:25) The Gospel of Jesus Christ has supernatural power to those that hear it and they are then able to repent and believe in the atoning death of Jesus for the forgiveness of sin.
