CHILDREN by Pastor Paul Locke for loxland.com 7/10/2016
Guiltless when under the age of understanding are children in the sight of God. Children are given by God to the righteous and unrighteous and considered a blessing like the rain. (Mtt 5:45) Jesus bid the disciples to let the little children come unto him for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. God protects the rights of children by placing the burden of care on mankind saying “Woe to those who cause these little ones to sin.” (Lk 17:2)
Faith of children is referred to as childlike faith and commended to all believers. (Mk 10:15) Those adults with this faith in God are given the right to become the Children of God. (Jhn 1:12) God gathers his children and places them under his wings like a mother hen and her chicks. No one can snatch them from his hands and God stations guardian angels in a hedge of protection from harm.
Mothers’ Milk is the method God uses to nurture and protect babies. Feeding creates a lasting bond between mother and baby a design to engender motherly love as God would have us love him. (1Pet 2:2) We are commanded to raise a child in the knowledge of God so that they may prosper. (Prov 3:1-2) The good shepherd is like good parents for the good shepherd leads sheep to green pasture and still water where they fear no evil.
Foster Parents who know God impart the truth to the child that they were created by God as male and female to fulfil a role to multiply. (Gen 1:27-28) Those who do not know God will tell lies about creation and that God loves us all. In God all things live and move and have their being. Jesus the Word of God was there at the beginning and nothing was created except through him. (Jhn 1:1-3) We were created in the image of God.
Weakness is a song sung by children “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so, little ones to him belong, we are weak but he is strong.” Children need to know the love of the Lord is never ending and if you were to die, then you go immediately into the presence of Jesus. Children are blessed when the parents are righteous and are not forsaken when they turn from evil and do good. (Ps 37:25-26)
