ETERNITY by Pastor Paul Locke for loxland.com 29/09/2016

Jenner of George Street in Sydney wrote the word ‘Eternity’ on the footpaths in chalk.  The puzzled people who saw his words came from all around the earth and embarked on the quest to see what was meant by the words.  Many thousands of people now became aware of the meaning of an eternal kingdom through the teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Jhn 11:25-26)  We know now that there is an eternal invisible spiritual realm as opposed to the temporary physical realm we can see. (2Cor 4:18)

New heaven and earth replace the old that passes away. This is where God lives and we who are overcomers live there too with the right to the water of life. (Rev 21:1)  Jesus said, “To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.”  “He, who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” (Rev 3:21-22)

Elect is a list of who will enter the eternal kingdom and known by God because He knows the beginning from the end. (Mtt 24:31)  After we make the decision to have faith and be born again Christians, then we are assured by the Holy Spirit of being Elect. (Jhn 14:26)  The Bible tells us that our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and will not see the second death of being thrown into the ‘fiery lake of burning sulphur’.

Friend of God is the desired outcome God would have when he gave us the choice. (Jhn 15:14)  Close friends of a king do not bow and scrape but fellowship in a non-formal way, otherwise God could easily have created a world full of Zombies to bow and scrape.  True worship is obedience which reflects love and honour.  Ritual is an outward sign of having a ‘Religious Spirit’ that Jesus rebuked when stating the woes for Pharisees. (Mtt 23:13)

Eternity is a never ending story like a fairy story ending ‘forever and ever.’  Servants of God will see His face and His name written on their foreheads, there will be no more night.  They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun for the Lord God will give them light.  And they will reign for ever and ever. (Rev 22:4-5)   So little is taught about being in heaven with God, but I know this that Jesus the Lamb celebrates at a wedding supper usually full of joy, food, music, and dancing. (Rev 19:7)
