FIRST RESURRECTION by Pastor Paul Locke for loxland.com 22/03/2017

Defined is being raised from the dead.  It is written that “It is appointed unto man to die once, then; comes the judgement.” (Heb 9:27)  To be eligible for the first resurrection a man needs to be born again a new identity being dead to sin and alive in Christ.  When a man is baptised into the Holy Spirit he becomes a new creation where “old things have passed away and all things are new.” (2Cor 5:17)  He has died and been resurrected so his fruit is proof.

Perfection is a process of “pressing on towards the goal” a journey that leads to being placed with God in heaven forever. (Php 3:14)  This process is made easier by the leading of the Holy Spirit, so being Born Again by the Spirit of God is the first step on the journey.  When we qualify for the journey our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and then we will rise to meet Jesus in the air when we are called to be ‘raptured’ with the saints. (1Thes 4:16-18& Rev 20:6 )

Timing for the action was not known by Jesus prior to his death and resurrection, however afterwards he was given all authority in heaven and on earth. (Mtt 24:36 & 28:18)  Jesus gave us signs of his return and things that must come to pass beforehand.  There will be signs in the heavens and on earth, a falling away in the faith, however after the rapture, the Church, the restrainer of Satan is removed, leaving those left behind to suffer great persecution. (Mtt 24:9)

Antichrist is revealed when the Church is gone and begins a seven year period leading up to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to earth. (Dan 9:27) This time is called the Tribulation that is broken into three and a half year periods, the first called the Beginning of Sorrows and the second part the Great Tribulation.  The Beginning of Sorrows period is when the great multitude dressed in white are raptured.  It seems that those raptured in the Great Tribulation must lose their lives. (Mtt 24:22)

Good News is that Jesus came to give us eternal life through faith in him. (Jhn 3:16)  The Devil is defeated through the Blood of Jesus and all we have to do is go onto the ‘Way of Holiness’ a journey. (Isa 35:8)  Unrepented sin is the snare for believers so our walk should be with a clean heart.  Be mindful of what we do or think because some thoughts are sins of the mind, hate equals murder, and lust equals fornication.  If you do sin; be quick to repent.
