FREEDOM by Pastor Paul Locke for loxland.com 22/06/2017
Borders are like prison walls that prevent people entering or leaving without permission. This border like the Great Wall of China was in place to keep enemies out and was seen by China as a blessing, but seen as a curse by Mongolians. God separated people into tribes, nations, and languages to prevent them from sinning against Him. (Gen 11:8) The border between heaven and hell is not negotiable once a person arrives there when freedom of choice is removed. (Lk 16:26)
Choices are given to mankind to be in the kingdom of God or the kingdom of Satan. We are asked to choose this day who we will serve; God or Satan. (Josh 24:15) The Kingdom of Satan is made attractive through lies when the truth is that hell is a place of eternal torment. Mankind has knowledge of sin through the generation curse received when Adam was cast out of the Garden of Eden. (Gen 3:22-23) Faith in God brings freedom and is the right choice, so repent of sin.
Holy Spirit the Ghost of Jesus, called the Holy Ghost who is omnipresent, and omniscient that is being everywhere and knowing everything at the same time. He is also omnipotent, that is the all-powerful creative arm of God. (Gen 1:2) This is the reason the Bible tells us that nothing is impossible with God. He is the gentle side of God who is our comforter, our teacher, leading us on paths of righteousness, and convicting us of sin. (Jhn 16:1-15) He is the lover of our soul closer to us than our breath.
Works of Jesus as the third person of God equal in every way; was to set the captives free. (Lk 4:18) His job was as an implement or gate for mankind to change sides from Satan to God by faith in him being the Lamb of God sacrificed for the sins of the world. Freedom for mankind comes through the shed blood of Jesus. The Holy Spirit was in him and working through him in power that now resides in believers to carry on the works of Jesus to save mankind from hell. (Jhn 14:12)
Freedom is the reward escaping from a dying world to be with Jesus in heaven. (Rev 22:12) We can enjoy this freedom now through baptism of the Holy Spirit that makes us citizens of heaven now like having one foot in heaven and the other on earth, the technical term is ‘eschatological tension’. (Eph 2:6) The old ways are governed by worldly thinking but the new way is having the mind of Christ. Whoever the Son sets free is free in deed.
