GLORY TO GLORY by Pastor Paul Locke for loxland.com 2/10/2015
Glory of God is called ‘Shekinah Glory’ the actual manifested visible presence of God the same Glory that came to the Tent of Meeting. (Ex 33:9) Moses had asked to see the Glory of God (Ex 33:18) and God responded with a warning, “But you cannot see my face, for no one can see me and live.” The glory of God is proof that someone has been in the presence of God and this proof was the shining face of Moses that people could not bear to look upon.
Glory in the Temple emanated from within the Most Holy Place behind the curtain and above the atonement cover of the Ark of the Covenant. (Heb 9:5) When the Ark was removed the Glory of God went with it and to this day five unrighteous people died by touching the Ark that rests in Jeremiah’s Grotto beneath Golgotha. God can manifest His Glory anywhere and is recorded to be on the Mount of Olives taken from Mount Moriah by Angels on a Chariot. (Ezek 11:22-23)
Anointing is the power of God where the Glory is the visible presence. Jesus was anointed for service after receiving the Holy Spirit at water baptism in the river Jordan. (Lk 3:23) After testing and exerting his authority over the devil Jesus pronounced his ministry upon reading the scroll in the Temple. He read the prophetic words of Isaiah and proclaimed the prophecy was fulfilled in Him that day. (Lk 4:18-21)
Glorified Jesus would emerge changed from flesh to Spirit at his crucifixion and anticipated through His prayer. (Jhn 17:1) Through the work Jesus was given to do, God was glorified on earth, meaning God appeared real to people through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Glory of Jesus came to him through his disciples who would now rely on God’s protection. (Jhn 17:11) Jesus prayed for believers to be able to see the Glory he had given them.
Wedding Supper is a time for Glorified believers to bask in the Glory of God for it is written, “Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb.” (Rev 19:7-9) The New Jerusalem is where glorified nations enter into “the Glory of God that gives it light and the Lamb is its lamp.” (Rev 21:23) Meanwhile if insulted because of the name of Christ “You are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.” (1Pet 4:14)
