SPIRITUAL SYMBIOSIS by Pastor Paul Locke for loxland.com 30/11/2016

Linked Spiritually is the description given by Jesus when he said, “I am the true vine…neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” (Jhn 15:1 & 4)  On the vine there are many branches and the link is established when Jesus said about individual branches, “…remain in me and I in him.” (Jhn 15:5)  It is by the indwelling of the Ghost of Jesus, the Holy Spirit that we are symbiotically linked: this is a spiritual linking for mutual advantage.

Body of Christ is another example of being linked spiritually with other Born Again believers. (1Cor 12:13)  This symbiotic relationship with Jesus and other believers is further revealed through teaching on prayer where Jesus is in the midst of praying believers. (Mtt 18:20)  God our Father in Heaven is mindful of our prayers and will grant our requests when prayer is correctly addressing the issue of being according to God’s purpose.

Linked in Unity of purpose is made easy through the commands of Jesus which define marching orders. God commands the blessings on those who come together in unity of purpose. (Ps 133)  The individual call of God separates us into unified groups with a same purpose or alone with a specific role to play but always within the purposes in God. (Eph 4:4-11)  This speaks of God the Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.

True Love seems to lovers as an eternal welding together of their hearts and minds as a supernatural state where they become one flesh. (Gen 2:24)  This symbiosis also occurs between Holy Spirit filled Christians; showing empathy towards each other as one would towards one’s own body. (1Cor 12:26)  Sometimes I feel that my brothers and sisters in the Lord can read my mind as they walk in the Spirit, akin to the gift of discernment.

Army of God marching together is another illustration of the symbiotic relationship we have with one another to face a common foe. (Josh 6:4)  Preaching the Gospel is like this, calling people to come to God by sounding a trumpet.  Serving God individually is all right but Jesus gave the example of sending out the Disciples in two’s. (Lk 10:1)  Remember we have the victory over Satan through the Blood of Jesus shed for the forgiveness of our sin.
